Mission:

The mission of Tuxedo Park School is to teach students to become life-long learners and thoughtful, productive citizens and leaders in their communities, our country and the world. In all aspects of school life we value integrity, independence, co-operation, responsibility, compassion, and respect for others.

History:

Tuxedo Park School was founded in 1900, fourteen years after Pierre Lorillard opened his famous park in the Ramapo Hills, 38 miles northwest of New York City. In its early years, the school provided education for the students from Tuxedo Park and coordinated the curriculum with the New York independent schools that some students attended during the winter.

After many years as a proprietary school, Headmaster Anthony Barber led the school into the modern era by obtaining the Charter from New York State and establishing the school as a not-for-profit educational institution.

About Us:

Tuxedo Park School specializes in pre-secondary education. Our students come from Orange and Rockland Counties in New York and Bergen and Passaic Counties in New Jersey.

We offer small class sizes, challenging academics, and a nurturing environment in a beautiful natural setting for children in Pre-Kindergarten through the Freshman year of High School.

The School supports and expects excellence in the faculty and in all academic and co-curricular programs, incorporating high academic standards which are both accessible and challenging to motivated students. Our teachers help students appreciate the joy of learning and the satisfaction of meeting significant challenges.

The School provides a safe, nurturing educational community that is small enough for each child to be known, to be appreciated, and to have appropriate opportunities to participate and to lead.

Tuxedo Park School is an independent, coeducational day school educating children from Tuxedo Park and surrounding communities in grades pre-kindergarten through nine. The School values and will preserve its historic relationship with the community of Tuxedo Park and its beautiful and natural setting.
