Truitt's Christmas Tree Farm

Truitt's Christmas Tree Farm was started by Truitt and his father, Lamar Zipperer in 1993 as a special project to supply funds for Truitt's college education.  It was approximately 1998 when the first harvest began with only a few trees that first year. The business plan was successful and supplied enough money for Truitt to graduate from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics debt free.

Currently Truitt, his wife Amber, and one year old son Holland have a new financial goal in mind for the Christmas Tree Farm, to build a house. After that, who knows but the plan is to continue the family tradition of growing Christmas trees year after year. It is possible this Christmas Tree Farm could one day provide for young Holland's college education as it did for his dad.  Time seems to fly by but some things never change.

The farm represents a rich heritage.  Truitt's Great-Grandad, Holland Zipperer, bought the land from the Zettler family in the early 1900's. Back then the farm produced such crops as sugar cane used in the production of cane syrup, sweet potatos, Irish potatos, sweet corn, and hogs for the Savannah market.
