About Us:

Home to 375 students in preschool through fifth grade, Sunset has been a vibrant part of the Airway Heights community since it was built in 1951. Additions were made to the building in 1955, 1959, 1975, and 1993, and the entire school was renovated in 2001-02. 

Serving as one of the hubs of community activities in Airway Heights, Sunset has an active and supportive PTO and promotes parent and community involvement.  Sunset’s caring and professional staff work very hard to create a positive learning environment and to assure quality achievement for all students.  The Sunset Elementary Title I school-wide program ensures quality assessment and instruction, particularly focused in the areas of literacy and mathematics.  

Through collaboration, careful study of student achievement data, high expectations, and partnership with parents and the Airway Heights community, we strive to help all of our children learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
