South Bay Presbyterian Church

2701 Plaza Del Amo Suite 703

History:

For the kingdom of heaven "is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade." (Mark 4:31-32)

SBPC was planted in Torrance, California by six families from True Light Presbyterian Church of nearby Los Angeles. Incorporated as the Chinese Presbyterian Church of the South Bay, the first worship services were held at the Torrance YMCA. Later, the Sizzler next door became a regular meeting place for SBPC's expanding programs. In September 1997, SPBC acquired a place of its own at 2701 Plaza Del Amo #703. We're continuing to grow and may find ourselves relocating again, but we're committed to being your neighbor in the South Bay.

Born in February 1988 to True Light Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles, South Bay Presbyterian Church was dedicated in March 1988 and accepted into the Presbytery in November 1992.
