Putnam was established in October 1949 with nineteen charter members who were led by God to start a Church in their community. Since its earliest days Putnam has continued to grow both spiritually, structurally, and numerically. In October 1999 at its 50th Anniversary Celebration, Putnam was challenged to:

* Remember the sacrifice behind us
* Resist the complacency among us
*Renew the spirit within us
*Respond to the vision before us

We exist to help people come to Jesus Christ by:

*Enabling them to SEEK a relationship with Him and His Church
*Challenging them to SURRENDER anything keeping them from fulfilling His purposes
*Allowing them opportunities to SERVE His Church
*Teaching them to SHARE His message with the world, all the while...
