City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department proudly protects 30000 people living in an area of 4.78 square miles. We operate out of Four stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status.

Career staffed department that serves the City of Poughkeepsie; a mix of residential, industrial and commercial usage. The Firefighters and Officers are represented by I.A.F.F. Local # 596., and the New York State Professional Firefighters Association. The department responds to over 4,500 calls/runs per year.
