Mexico Trail Riders - Snowmobile Club

4288 NY 104

The Mexico Trail Riders, Inc. Snowmobile club was founded in 1995 by several people in the Mexico area with the intent of forming a multi-purpose recreational trail utilizing the abandoned rail bed the passes both east and west through the village of Mexico, New York. In 1996 it was decided to pursue a snowmobile only trail system. It was also decided to expand the trail system by completing a loop from the already existing rail bed tie to the Pulaski-Boylston to the Square Valley club near the Grist Mill in Parish, this would allow a loop between the systems allowing for a nice riding experience, It was also felt that a feeder line to the Texas area would be beneficial to bring residence from that area into the trail system. Most of the additional trails were added in 1998-1999 with additions and modifications continuing to this day. In the year 2000-2001 the trail from Mexico to Texas was extended to the hamlet of Lycoming just south of the nuclear plants on Miner road.
