McDonough Elementary School opened in 1954. Many prominent citizens of the McDonough community completed their elementary education at McDonough Elementary School. The school underwent a renovation and became a K-5 school for the 2002-2003 school year.

The mission of McDonough Elementary School is to provide a balanced educational program that meets the needs and enriches the lives of our students through a cooperative effort between home, school, and community.
This is accomplished in an environment of trust and respect that fosters positive attitudes toward self and others.

We are committed to continuous school improvement promoting the highest level of academic achievement according to the district, state, and national standards.
