Long Island Macintosh Users Group (LIMac)

Northern Boulevard and Valentines Lane
516-938-9662

LIMac, Long Island's oldest and largest Macintosh user group is a not-for-profit, volunteer member supported organization whose purpose is to share information about Macintosh computers and other Apple products, such as the iPod, and what one can accomplish with the help of digital technology. LIMac helps members with technical questions, gives honest advice on software and hardware selection and provides a friendly environment where people can learn more about their beloved Macs. Membership includes novices as well as power users; family users, business users and educators; individuals, hobbyists, professional and corporate users. LIMac is a place to share in the camaraderie of fellow Macintosh lovers. We also welcome any & all Windows users who are thinking of switching over to the Mac.

The meetings start at 7:00PM. First up is our ever-popular Question and Answer session hosted by our resident technical expert, Bradley Dichter. This independent consultant volunteers his time, fielding questions on any topic. The Q&A session is also an open forum, where one member may seek help from another with a specific interest. At 7:30PM the main presentation, usually given by a prominent member of the Macintosh community or a spokesperson from a popular developer of Macintosh software or hardware. The presentation is followed by some announcements and then our monthly raffle drawing. Afterwards join in on one of our popular special interest groups. Our SIGs include MacBasics, Photoshop & Desktop Publishing.

LIMac holds its general meeting every second Friday of the month in room 308-310 of the Anna Rubin Hall or "300" building at the Old Westbury campus of the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) on Northern Boulevard.
