The Mission of the Hastings Historical Society

The Hastings Historical Society was founded in 1971 as part of a grassroots movement to identify and protect the historic treasures of Hastings. Today our hundreds of members live in Hastings and around the world: What they have in common is their love of our village and its past.

The Society is staffed and run almost completely by volunteers. They maintain our award-winning archive, publish our acclaimed newsletter, The Hastings Historian, run our programs for the public, and manage all our day-to-day operations. Together, they create an active and vibrant Society.

The Society's revenues come from diverse sources: membership dues, donations, merchandise sales, and interest on investments. We appreciate support in any quantity. The Hastings Historical Society is a not-for-profit organization chartered by the New York State Board of Regents, and all contributions are tax-deductible.
