Our History:

Good Shepherd Medical Center - Marshall is a not-for-profit facility located in Northeast Texas, approximately 150 miles east of Dallas, Texas and 35 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana. Good Shepherd Medical Center - Marshall is the only hospital located in Harrison and Marion Counties. The majority of the Hospital's admissions come from the city of Marshall. The surrounding counties have the following populations:

 - Harrison County: 62,110
 - Marion County: 10,941
 - Panola County: 22,756.

Established in 1909 by several Harrison County physicians, Good Shepherd Medical Center - Marshall has grown to a 149 bed facility with an intensive care unit  and a 24-hour Level III Trauma Center. Good Shepherd Medical Center - Marshall is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations, a member of the American Hospital Association and a Partner Member of the Voluntary Hospital Association.

Accreditations and Licensure

Good Shepherd Medical Center - Marshall participates in the collaboration, coordination, and integration of efforts between the myriad State and Federal agencies and organizations involved in the licensure, certification, accreditation, and oversight of health care providers. We submit our organization to the accreditation and licensure requirements of the following agencies to ensure the highest level of care possible while protecting the health and safety of our patients.
