First Baptist Church of Patchogue was founded in 1888. Its stated purpose at the time was to join... "ourselves together to work for the Master and battle against the hosts of sin and Satan." The church building has through the years been situated in four different locations around town. What has not changed is our commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and our firm conviction that the Word of God is without error and is all that is necessary for faith and practice.
Our church motto has always been that we are, "A church in the heart of Long Island with the people of Long Island on its heart." This will never change. The people of Long Island are on the heart of Jesus Christ. They must therefore always be on ours. It is our goal to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and disciple them through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God.
