About

Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Marshall was organized June 30, 1985 with 71 charter members. The earliest meetings were held in private homes — at Bob and Vernell Paine’s and Jim and Nina Bates’. Serving as the church’s first elders were Jim Bates, the late Orin Littlejohn, and the late George Rodgers.

Later, church members met at the Corral Club on Bomar Street. On Aug. 4, 1985, the church began meeting at 403 E. Burleson St. at the old Nazarene Church. In June of 1990, the church moved to 408 N. Washington Ave. in the old Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Church members in 1987 purchased a nine-acre tract of land at the corner of Victory Drive (U.S. 80) and Park Place. A building was constructed at this site, and in September, 1993, we held our first worship services at 4700 Victory Drive, our current location.
