History: In the city of Chicago in 1917 Melvin Jones, inspired by Helen Keller, started what became the International Association of Lions Club. Today the International Association of Lions Club is the largest service organization in the world. As of January 31, 2004 there were 1,349,983 members, 46,242 clubs in 192 countries and geographical areas.
The Central Square Lions Club was organized on November 18, 1948 with 23 charter members. Currently we have 25 members. We sponsored the Fulton, Parish, Brewerton, and Pulaski clubs and assisted in starting six others.
Our Motto: To Serve

The money received from the public must be returned to the public in humanitarian service. The club is maintained entirely from membership dues.
