The PTA is extremely active and works cooperatively with the school staff for the welfare of all children. Bedford is a child-centered school with a tremendous focus on achievement, success, high expectations, and feelings of self-worth.

Each month, Bedford spotlights a particular value. Some of the values we focus on are: Responsibility, Honesty, Cooperation, Compassion, Respect, and Trustworthiness. Students observed demonstrating these values are recognized school-wide. The descriptors for each value are sent home so that parents can also work with their children reinforcing these values. Values are taught in the classroom through modeling and the interactions between students and teachers and are also incorporated into every subject taught whenever it is appropriate.
