Westchester Community Foundation Awards $1.45 Million In Grants

(Hartsdale, NY—December  13 , 2022) The Westchester Community Foundation has awarded grants totaling $1,459,000 to 24 nonprofits.  Included are grants to address food insecurity, support community sponsorship of refugees, expand access to mental health and substance abuse care, and provide digital skills training for young people. 

Caritas/Meals on Main, Episcopal Charities of the Diocese of New York, and Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming will expand access to fresh, nutritious food to low-income households.

Hearts and Homes for Refugees will work with a growing constellation of local groups sponsoring refugee families in Westchester.

the harris project will reach more families and caregivers seeking treatment for young people with mental health and substance abuse needs.

The Knowledge House will provide digital skills training and job preparation for young people in Yonkers, Mount Vernon, and New Rochelle.

The Foundation’s grants to Cause Effective, Nonprofit Westchester, and The Advocacy Institute will ensure that nonprofit executives receive professional development and advocacy training.
