Get an up-close look at the massive Lewis Ore Wagons.

Come inside the museum to view historical items from Ketchum’s founding, mining history, and Wagon Days. 

Step outside for a tour of Ketchum’s oldest surviving building, the Bonning Cabin. 

The historical exhibit was developed in partnership with City of Ketchum, Blaine County Historical Museum, and The Community Library’s Regional History Department.  The Ore Wagon Museum also sells reserved seating for the parade and Wagon Days souvenirs.

10:15 AM : Sun Valley Story Tour - Ketchum, 491 Sun Valley Rd, Ketchum, ID 83340

Visit the area’s most historic locales. Jump on the Sun Valley Story Tour bus for a one-hour guided tour past historical sites such as the Horace Lewis home and mining historical sites, the Union Pacific Terminal, Comstock-Clark Mercantile Building, and many more.

1:00 PM : Cowboy Poetry - Ore Wagon Museum

Mosey on over and listen to Cowboy Bards as they spin their yarns of the old open range, a way of life now just dust in the wind, and tales of folks and times long since ridden off into the sunset.

Cowboy poetry, born from the tradition of wranglers swapping tales around the campfire, is sure to take you on a wild ride through the old West.

5:30 PM - 7:00 PM : Wagon Days Grand Marshal's Reception - Ketchum, 480 4th St E, Ketchum, ID 83340

This ceremony celebrates, the 2023 Grand Marshal Jerry Seiffert, who are being honored for their enduring contributions to the community of Ketchum.

The city of Ketchum honors former Mayor Jerry Seiffert as the Grand Marshal for the 2023 Wagon Days Parade.

Seiffert's contributions to the Ketchum community over the decades have been invaluable. The city is grateful to acknowledge his lasting influence with this special honor. 

During his time as mayor in 1976, Seiffert played a pivotal role in rekindling the beloved Wagon Days tradition, a testament to his lasting dedication to the city. 

"Wagon Days is a cherished tradition that exemplifies Ketchum's rich history and robust community spirit,” said Mayor Neil Bradshaw. “It's a festivity that pays homage to our past, values our present, and anticipates a prosperous future.

We take immense pride in honoring Jerry Seiffert, whose dedication and leadership were key in shaping Wagon Days into the popular event it is today,” he added.

September 2, 2023

8:00 AM – 12:00 PM : Papoose Club Pancake Breakfast - Ketchum Town Square, 480 4th St E, Ketchum, ID 83340

$10 or $8 senior/youth, under three eat-for-free

Serving an all you can eat country breakfast of pancakes, sausages, and eggs, all flipped, fried and served by club members and local characters.

Proceeds benefit children's programs throughout the Wood River Valley. 

A community tradition since 1977, the Papoose Pancake Breakfast is held on the Saturday and Sunday mornings of Labor Day weekend during Wagon Days at the Ketchum Town Square.

10:00 AM – 5:00 PM : Children's Activities: Petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals, and historical re-enactment - Ketchum Town Square, East Ave & 4th St E, Ketchum, ID 83340

Yeehaw, little partners! Gather 'round, 'cause the Town Square's cookin' up a heap of fun for the young'uns!

We've got a menagerie of cuddly critters for pettin', wild and whacky face paintin', balloon critters twistin', and a hands-on time-travelin' adventure!

With "Wagons Ho!", the kiddos will get a chance to feel what life was like on the pioneer trail.

Come on down and let 'em live a day in the boots of those brave old settlers!

10:30 AM : Horsemanship & Cultural Performances Festival Meadows - Festival Meadows , 206 Sun Valley Road, Sun Valley, ID 83353

The Eh-Capa Bareback Riders and Escaramuza Charra riding and performance groups their exceptional and courageous riding skills.

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM : Wagon Days Big Hitch Parade - Ketchum

Join us for one of the country's most remarkable non-motorized parades, featuring an impressive display of museum-quality carriages, carts, and stagecoaches. Riding clubs and cultural equestrians highlight the diverse tapestry of Idaho's equestrian traditions.

For the Grande Finale, prepare to be transported back in time! The Big Hitch, showcases the iconic Lewis Ore Wagons pulled by an authentic and awe-inspiring 20 mule team, just as they were in history.

The team is skillfully guided by mule-skinner Bobby Tanner, who utilizes the historic jerkline method to drive them. It is a truly extraordinary sight to behold!

2:30 PM : Mickey and the Motorcars: Wagon Days Street Party - Ketchum, 4th St E, Ketchum, ID

After the Parade - Wagon Days Street Party - Featuring Micky & the Motorcars.

Directly following the passing of the Big Hitch down Main Street, pop over to Ketchum Town Square for the Wagon Days Street Party, featuring a live concert Mickey and the Motorcars
