Spring Orchid Festival and Show 2023

Clubs and Organizations

February 6, 2023

From: Spring Orchid Festival and Show

Join us in the Propagation House, to observe the diverse and beautiful group of Orchidaceae we will have to show on the cement tables of the greenhouse. David Edgley and his colleagues, who have been hobby orchid growers for 50 years, will discuss how to keep the unique plants alive, happy, and repeat blooming. The Orchidaceae family is the largest of flowering plants, including natives in Washington. Most ornamentals, though, are tropical and epiphytic (they don’t grow in soil) and require unique care from other houseplants. If you have questions concerning your orchid plants, we will have “orchid doctors” on-site to offer advice on care as well as provide tips on re-blooming. The Mount Baker Orchid Society will also offer their services by donation to re-pot your orchids. This will be judged by the American Orchid Society, with awards being presented in the afternoon on March 5th.

We hope you will join us for our 4th Annual Orchid Festival here at the Nursery. You will surely be impressed by the diversity of plants and the knowledge of the orchid experts.
