GREENSBORO - On May 7, 2024, the North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) is excited to announce that North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum will keynote the 2024 Old North State Dinner at the NCGOP Convention in Greensboro on Saturday, May 25!

“We are thrilled to have Governor Doug Burgum speak at the NCGOP Convention this year,” said NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons. “Governor Burgum has a tremendous record of accomplishments in business and in two terms serving his state. He is a leader in advocating for a stronger economy, plentiful energy, and for our national security.”

Under Doug’s leadership, North Dakota is a leader in innovation, creating a boom across the state’s energy, agriculture, and technology sectors. In Burgum’s first year as governor, he inherited a $1.7 billion budget shortfall. Doug balanced the budget by cutting spending. He helped pass term limits and enacted the largest tax cut in North Dakota history. It’s no wonder that Forbes named Doug the country’s “Best Entrepreneurial Governor.”

Burgum is married to Kathryn Burgum and has two sons, Joe and Tom, and a daughter, Jesse.
