HOLIDAY DONATIONS

City Hall is a collection site for the Chamber of Commerce's Tree of Warmth and CAP Agency's Hope for the Holidays. New donations are being accepted until Dec. 5 and can be dropped off during business hours. City Hall is closed in recognition of Veterans Day on Fri., Nov. 10.

ELECTION JUDGES NEEDED

As the end of 2023 quickly approaches, the City of Prior Lake is preparing for 2024 and we are in need of Election Judges. Judges come from a variety of backgrounds some with little to no experience, and others who have been serving the community for years. Judges are not volunteers and do get paid to handle all of the different aspects of voting at the polls.

SPIRIT OF PRIOR LAKE AWARD WINNER

The 2023 Cora McQuestion Spirit of Prior Lake Award winner is Kathy Dawson! Kathy is a fifth generation Laker. Her great, great grandfather was on the first school board and her great grandfather attended the first school in Prior Lake - a log home. As last year's winner of the Cora McQuestion Spirit of Prior Lake Award, Woody Spitzmueller, puts it, “Kathy stands alone in consideration for the 2023 Spirit Award.”

At the Nov. 2 Minnesota Wild game, Prior Lake Police Officer Chris Schaefer was honored as a ‘hometown hero.’ Officer Schaefer leads the Police Department’s Special Olympics efforts, including the polar plunge, tip-a-cop and torch run. Thank you, Chris, for all you do - you make us proud!
