Outhern Finger Lakes Celebrates The History Of Pride With Weekend Long Events

SoFLX Pride, is gearing up for a fantastic Pride Festival Weekend, a celebration of diversity, inclusivity, and love. The three-day event will take place from June 9th to June 11th and is brought to you by the local non-profit organization, Southern Finger Lakes Pride.

The weekend will kick off on Thursday, June 9th with a Teen Workshop Event. This is an educational, evening private event so please email us for details if your young ones are interested in what the event entails! 

Later that evening, the over 21 Drag Show at the Corning Museum of Glass from 8-11pm is sure to be a hit. The show will feature the talented Mrs Kasha Davis, as well as local and regional Drag entertainers, and a DJ who will be keeping the dance floor hopping throughout the night. On June 10th,from 12-4pm the Pride Festival will take place in Centerway Square, Corning, NY. This festival is a celebration of our history and will feature local artists and talent. The festival will have LGBTQIA+ vendors, entertainers, artists, and interactive elements for kids, both inside and outside of gaffer businesses on Market Street. As always, SoFLX Pride Festival is free to enter!

In the evening, sponsored by Wine Country, the Pride Crawl on Market Street from 5-8pm. Participants can purchase a tasting glass for $20 and sample over 40 local New York State wineries and breweries.

On June 11th from 1 - 3:30 pm, the Southeast Steuben County Library will host a "Library of Lived Experience: Pride Edition" during which READERS will be able to “check out” a human BOOK, based on a BOOK’s title and story summary.  The intention of this event is to foster lifelong learning and community connections through open, honest, and nonjudgmental dialogue between those who identify as LGBTQIA+ and those who would like to learn, support, and foster relationships in our community with LGBTQIA+.  READER registration for this event will open June 1st on the library's website (ssclibrary.org) or by calling 607-936-3713, Ext 217.
