From: Mountaintop Oktoberfest

Schedule:

4pm – 6pm: Parade of Breweries, Wineries, Cideries, and Spirits
Accordionist Benjamin Ickies brings forth vibrant music for our Oktoberfest parade as we explore some of the best purveyors of beer, wine, cider, and spirits in the Hudson Valley.   No Fee. Must be 21 years old and have a valid ID to taste.

5pm: The Tapping Ceremony and Cannon Commencement
Usher in this weekend’s fanfare with our tapping ceremony, led by brewmaster James Walsh of Yard Owl Brewery. Make sure to grab a drink as we welcome Tom Smiley to fire Bert Smiley’s cannon in conjunction for our first Oktoberfest.

5:30pm – 8:30pm: Dinner Special: Beef Rouladen with Potato Pancakes
Take the parade down to the dining room where you can enjoy tonight’s signature German cuisine, top round roast beef rouladen paired with kartoffelpuffer (potato pancakes).

9pm: Hilby, the Skinny German Juggle Boy
Comedic-juggler Hilby presents a powerful and spellbinding collage of superb technical skill and wacky comedy in the tradition of vaudeville. One cannot help but be charmed by Hilby’s impeccable timing and extreme circus skills. You can find him on top of Unicycles of all shapes and sizes, manipulating objects ranging from bowling balls to hedge trimmers. This hilarious and thrilling show is not to be missed.

10:30am – 11:30am: Beginners Polka Dance Class
An Octoberfest would not be complete without polka, one of America’s most popular dances. It is a simple dance that anyone can learn – be prepared to have fun.  Instructors Candace Woodard-Clough and Gene Eagle will show you both the cardio and non-cardio versions.

11:30am – 2pm: Brunch Buffet Special: Sauerbraten and Braised Red Cabbage
Polka your way back to the dining room for richly marinated sauerbraten paired with rotkohl, blaukohl or blaukraut (depending on the region of Germany you are in, they each mean braised red cabbage).

5pm: Beer and Wurst Tasting with Yard Owl Brewery
James and Joe of Yard Owl Brewery will lead us through a pairing of their expressive Belgian ales and traditional German wursts including knockwurst, bratwurst, and bockwurst. Note: Pre-registration is required.  $40 per person program fee for admittance to the tasting. Space is limited. Participants must be age 21 or over to attend.

5:30pm – 8:30pm: Dinner Special: Veal and Pork Dumplings
With a wide variety of German dumplings, tonight’s selection includes veal and pork dumplings made in a mushroom cream sauce.

8:30pm – 10:30pm: Liquor and German Beer Bar
Our Beverage Team has you covered for this evening’s festivities with liquor and several German beers for purchase.

9pm: Music and Games with the Swedish Meatballs
The Swedish Meatballs were formed just like a recipe, all blended together to create delicious music. Led by squeezing accordionist Ellen Lindstrom, tonight’s show will bring together toe-tapping, foot-stomping, and polka prancing funfare with a few surprise games in between.

Sunday, September 24, 2023

10:30am – 11:30am: The Stein Games and Cannon Finale
Put your balance, strength, and speed to the test as the stein proves to be more than a beer-drinking vessel! Prizes will be awarded to our stein-master winners as we "raise a glass" with one final cannon shot.

11:30am – 2pm: Brunch Buffet Special: Pork Schnitzel and Spätzle
Our final signature German cuisine before your journey home highlights schweine schnitzel (pork) and spatzle.
