Miami Lyric Opera Newsletter August/September 2022

From: Miami Lyric Opera

Dear Friends:

We are excited about the work underway as we prepare for our upcoming presentation of Bizet’s Carmen. There is a special energy involved in the production of this current operatic event. We look back at the last twenty years since MLO's founding with continued enthusiasm and pride. Almost two hundred operatic performances have been presented. Our repertoire of 23 operas has included I Puritani, Il tabarro, Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica, L'amico Fritz, Don Pascuale, L'elisir d'amore, Lucia, Un ballo in maschera, Marina, La Bohème, Butterfly, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La traviata, Rigoletto, and many other masterworks from the Italian and French operatic traditions. Many young talented singers have gained valuable experience with MLO and gone on to perform in major opera houses nationally and internationally. Their list of achievements is ongoing, even amid the challenges that continue to face all of us in today’s world.

As we celebrate our twentieth anniversary, we close 2022 with a spectacular Opera Gala Concert. Featured artists are Eglise Gutierrez, Nelson Martinez, Nathalie Avila, Philip Alongi, and Emanuel Caraman, among others. The event will take place at our usual venue, the South Miami Cultural Arts Center. The program is a “banquet” of favorite opera highlights performed by talented singers, chorus and orchestra. We anticipate a full house.

In closing, I continue to appeal to your support and generosity by asking you to pledge your donation. Please contribute by clicking the following link DONATE .

We appreciate your continued help and support.

Sincerely
