Macon Beer Fest 2023

Arts and Entertainment

September 26, 2023

From: Macon Beer Fest

Started in 2010, the Macon Beer Fest has grown into one of the Top Ten. Georgia premier craft beer events. The event offers over 100 varieties of craft beer and wine. VIP ticket holders get to enjoy beers unavailable to the genera crowd.

What makes the event unique, is that its purpose is to educate men about the risks of prostate cancer. You can say it's a health fair disguised as a beer festival - It's a party for a cause!

The Macon Beer Fest is put on by the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon supporting "Pints for Prostates", prostate cancer education and the need for screening, Downtown Macon projects, local community grants, as well as global grants.  Donations to support prostate cancer events may be made to The Prostate Cancer Fund at the Community Foundation of Central Georgia.

This truly is a beer run. Individuals run a mile, and stop four times to drink a beer or teams of four compete as a relay, running a quarter mile each. Competitors must drink canned beer and should not be less than 355ml. No specialized cans may be used to give an advantage by allowing the beer to pour at a faster rate. No straws or devices may be used. All beers will be a minimum of 5% alcohol by volume. Hard ciders and lemonades will not suffice. It is strongly suggested to tip the can to show all the contents have been consumed before continuing the race. Gather on Poplar Street near the intersection of Third Street and Poplar Street, opposite the second music stage.

6pm: Husband / Boyfriend Calling Contest

Have you lost your significant other at the beer fest? Want to make sure they got their free blood test? Sometimes yelling is the best form of communication for locating your loved one. Loudest and most creative entrant wins!
