Great Pollinator Census

For All Ages

The Great Georgia Pollinator Census is a citizen science project created by the University of Georgia where Georgians count the insects that land on a chosen pollinator plant for 15 minutes and put the insects into one of eight categories (carpenter bee, bumble bee, honey bee, small bee, wasp, fly, butterfly/moth, or other insect). The project is designed for any Georgian to participate in and make a difference for pollinator conservation! Three of our locations are participating

All Day, August 19-20, 2022

Hampton Park Library

Drop by the front desk for a tally form, then find your favorite flower and count!

11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022

Cumming Library

Visit with Master Gardeners in the Secret Garden to complete the census and enjoy the Pollinator Story Stroll.

11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022

Post Road Library

Visit the Poetry Garden to pick a favorite pollinating plant to complete the census. Forsyth Master Gardeners will be on hand to help and explain the census.
