The winter season is a time for celebration of family and winding down the year, whether your winter is chilly and snowy in the northern hemisphere or the sunnier climes of the southern hemisphere, these celebrations are perfect for practicing family traditions and exploring others. Join us for an evening of activities and food around Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Winter Solstice. Members of Alianza Cultural de Kingston and the Ulster County community will share their own traditions and recipes with the community. Participants will have a chance to try out the activities and to taste each food. Everyone leaves with the recipes and resources to try them at home.

While this is a family friendly event, there will be no child care available.

Alianza Cultural de Kingston works with the diverse Hispanic communities in Kingston to preserve, protect, foster and share their languages and cultures, while sharing and celebrating their traditions, arts, cuisines and values with the broader community.

The Broadway Bubble is a laundromat and community hub designed to provide a place for positive energy and growth in our neighborhood. The space is multi-purpose, adaptive to community needs, and is designed and shaped by the residents of our community.

The Folk Arts Program at Arts Mid-Hudson researches and presents the arts and traditions that form our diverse communities’ cultural heritages. Through public educational programs, the Folk Arts Program interprets the traditions of ethnic, occupational, and religious groups in the Mid-Hudson region. The Program is open to suggestions about how to assist in celebrating your community’s heritage.
