Morning Yoga at the Bowl (FREE)

9:30 am - 10:30 am: Maytag Park (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Join us on Saturday, June 8th at 9 - 10 am for a FREE yoga session led by Rachel Braafhart! The session will be held at Maytag Bowl Open to all skill levels from curious beginners to advanced yogi Bring your yoga mats

Newton Alumni Brunch & Newton High School Hall of Fame Induction

Iowa Brewery Running Series Run for Beer 5K

10 am - 12 pm: Gezellig Brewing Company ​(403 W 4th St N; Newton, IA 50208)

See you at Gezellig Brewing Company on Saturday, June 8th Fun run starts from the taproom at 10 AM They've mapped out a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at Gezellig Brewing Company and weaves throughout the Legacy Plaza neighborhood of Newton Run, walk, jog - whatever goes! 10 am: Capitol II Theatre (116 1st St N; Newton, IA 50208)

Head to the Capitol II Theatre for a free showing of the Wizard of Oz on the big screen Doors open at 9:15 am Free tickets are available for pickup at the YMCA or Capitol II Theatre beginning May 24 A $4 concession special will feature a 16 oz pop and 32 oz popcorn

Newton Main Street Car Show

11 am - 3 pm: Downtown Newton

Join Newton Main Street on the downtown square for a car show! Park and registration takes place from 8 - 11 am with judging taking place 11 am - 3 pm; judging categories include: Best of Show, Best Engine, People's Choice, Longest Distance Traveled, Best Paint and Bob Provin Memorial $15 pre-registration and $20 registration day of the show First 100 registered receive a free dash plaque

Gezellig Brewing Company Food Trucks

Begins at 12 pm on Legacy Plaza (403 W 4th St N; Newton, IA 50208)​

Thumbs Up Tropical Snow will be set up at 12 pm and Ninas Tacos  will be set up at 4 pm

Safety Fest (FREE)

12 - 2 pm: Maytag Park (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

The Newton Fire Department and Newton Police Department will be parked at the park with a fire truck, ambulance, police vehicle, and more! There will be fun activities and chances to meet police officers and firefighters

Family Fun Zone featuring Inflatables & Laser Tag (FREE)

The Newton Fest Fun Zone at Maytag Park ​will feature inflatables and laser tag can be enjoyed by residents of all age for free

Maytag Pool Discounted Newton Fest Admission

1 pm - 6:45 pm: Maytag Pool (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Enjoy a fun day at Maytag Pool with a discounted admission rate of $3 per person

Heath Alan and The Deep Roots​ in Concert (FREE)

7 pm: Maytag Bowl (301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208)

Heath Alan (Pattschull) is an Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Des Moines, Iowa Heath was nurtured and mentored by some of Iowa's greatest talents including Patrick Hazell, Joe Price, Roger Miller and Jonathan Schwabe Heath was awarded the prestigious Liberace Music Grant (Yes - That Liberace) and inducted into the Yamaha Musicians Hall of Fame before he was 18 years of age  Heath studied music at UNLV and The University of Northern Iowa with Frank Gagliardi (Louis Armstrong), Felix Vesculia and composer Jonathan Schwabe  Heath has been an active musician in the midwest for the past 20 years  Heath got his start with The Blue Band, has lead his own band for the past 20 years and is an active sideman and studio musician   

Those attending the free concerts are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and are welcome to bring coolers to Maytag Park as they enjoy the free, live music
