AmericanTowns Launches Online Fundraising Tool For Community Organizations

Raising money for a favorite charity used to be everyone’s least favorite chore. It involved so much time, trouble and follow-up it was hard to get volunteers to take on the job. But now, with our new secure Online Donation Tool, fundraising is so incredibly easy. All you have to do is direct donors to your organization's page on AmericanTowns, where they’ll find easy instructions for donating money securely via Pay Pal. Donors fill in their donation amount and click a button. It really is that simple.

You can use our Online Donation tool to raise funds for a new playground or new team uniforms, for a capital campaign or your favorite charity. You can even use it to handle annual registration or membership fees. When you sign up your club or organization on Americantowns, simply activate the Online Donation tool and you’re in business. Thanks to our new Online Donation feature , fundraising may just become everyone’s new favorite job.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Connects with the Wethersfield Community

We don’t give out grades here at Americantowns (high school chemistry class cured us of that) but if we did, the Wethersfield, Connecticut chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be on the honor roll for the way they connect with their local community.  Their Americantowns calendar is consistently chock full of incredible events, from golf tournaments and fashion shows to walk-a-thons and other fundraising events that keep their members and donors active and involved. They have also linked their Americantowns site to a CFF site where information on any event in the northeast can be found.  It’s great to see the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation make great strides against this terrible disease. Check out their site here

Our Kind of Book Club!

After a long day on the latte-powered treadmill of life, it’s nice to know you can still get in touch with your inner couch potato, here at Americantowns, thanks to the “Laid Back Book Club”. This online book discussion group, affiliated with the Norwalk Public Library, is so relaxed you don’t even have to leave your house to participate. Well, okay you do have to venture out to get the monthly book selection.  But once you have the book, there are no deadlines, no weekly meetings and no need to get out of your pajamas. Members simply read the assigned book when they have time and share their opinions online, if they muster up the energy to type.  It doesn’t get any easier.  Next time you’re feeling over-caffeinated, over- worked or under-appreciated, spend some quality me-time with them or start your own in your community!  You may just get off the treadmill for good.
